Dermal sheet mask Royal Jelly Review

I have been using alot of these cheap sheet mask from Korean brand Dermal, basically you can find them at most Korean supermarkets, i found them at K-mart.

Since i used up one sheet per day, i tend to go for the cheaper mask.  I think this brand is actually pretty good, it's made in korea and there's so many varieties.  I like the Royal Jelly sheetmask because it's one of the most hydrating mask from this line, and believe me i have tried almost all of their varieties.

Overall review: 4/5, great value and specific the Royal Jelly is really hydrating.

Mask Review: Kielh's deep cleansing mask

After hearing all the rave about Kielh's deep cleansing mask i decided it's time to try it out (after N years i finally caved in).  Everyone on the online review board said this mask is great for clearing out whiteheads however there is a tingly sensation when putting on the mask, and that's exactly how i felt.  Believe me when i say i have tried a lot of masks of all different brand, so i thought i surely would not feel anything tingly that's for sensitives skin people, but not true at all.  I don't consider my skin as sensitive, it's pretty resistant, so even when i put on the mask i could feel a sting.  Here's my warning for the sensitive skin girls, you probably want to try it out with a sample size before purchasing the bigger bottle.

As for cleansing property, i think it does an okay job.  I did noticed one time that there were whitehead floating up after i used this mask, it's either whiteheads or dead skin cells from washing off the mask, either case i think the mask is working.  If you have to let me pick something bad about this mask then i would it's the price vs effectives.  This mask is expensive around $33 canadian, surely you can say there are more expensive masks out there (Glam Glow supermud mask is definitely higher in price, but in terms of effectiveness i say Glam Glow is better).  Kielh's mask lacks effectiveness what i mean is not every time you use the mask you clean out all of your pores, there are some whiteheads but not every time.

Overall rating: 3.5/5, mostly due to price and effectiveness, i think overall it's a good mask just not as magical like everyone else raved about it.  Probably will not repurchase after i finish this giant bottle, the amount of product is a lot and that's a plus.

Skincare Routine: 2016 Summer, 1 year post pregnancy

I don't know if anyone is interested in knowing a little more about me, well too late you are going too since you are reading this post.  The reason why i didn't post anything between 2015 and early 2016 is because i was pregnant and afterwards taking care of a baby after April 2015.  The one thing that i will say is that having a baby can CHANGE your skin!!!  The most noticeable change that i have seen after this year is that my skin is more drier than before and more sensitive.  Not that my skin is dry now, but in comparison to before, i noticed less oil around my t-zone and every where else is more drier too.
(Me without BB cream or foundation)

Another huge change is that before i would get serious hormonal acne around my chin and mouth area, this has cleared up after this year.

Before i would see constant acne/pimple forming one after another (there would be no break, every week i would get a pimple or two, it was frustrating no matter what product i used and nothing help, it was hormonal after all, so actually any skincare didn't help).

Now that i have a toddler, spending time on my skincare routine has to be fast!  When you have a child clinging to your leg or snooping around the toilet (just waiting for you to look away, so he can lift up the toilet seat and reach his hand in) you want to finish up your skincare routine as fast as possible, believe me ;P  So the products that I am currently interested in are the all-in-one or the really effective products.

Also, something new that I have been doing that I think has improved my skin a lot is on weekdays (Monday to Friday, or at least the days that I go to work) I will put on a sheet mask when I'm in the car going to work.  Because my husband drives and the time required for me to go from home to work is about 30-50 mins, I fully use this time and put on a sheet mask.  Most sheet masks says they should only be use around 20 to 30 mins, but I think most of the sheet masks has lots of essences in them, so I usually leave it for more than 30 mins, max 45 mins.  I swear everyday that I use the sheet mask, my skin is glowing afterward (and that's without any BB cream or foundation too)!!!  But the effect doesn't last long, usually the glowing effect is gone by the end of day and it transform to oil (eewwww... right?)

I brought a lot of sheet mask because I used up so many now and because I am using them almost daily.  I tend to buy the cheap sheet masks just because they are used daily so I don't want to spend a fortune on them.  I have brought lots of the Korean Collagen sheet mask with lots of varieties.

My favourites are the cucumber, green tea, and aloe one.  They are simple and yet hydrating.

I am more hesistant to use the none standard one such as snake-syn, horse oil, milk, etc. they sound interesting to me and I have brought one of each just to try, however the majority of mask that I brought was the cucumber, aloe, green tea, honey. I think I have a total of more than 40 sheet mask from this brand of Collagen masks. One interesting favor that I have to mention is the Red Ginseng one, it smells just like the Red Ginseng and the scent is so long lasting, even after days that I have opened up the packaging, I would still smell it. I think Red Ginseng smells pretty good, and if you are like me, then you will like Red Ginseng sheet mask too :)

The masks that you see above if only a small portion of the masks that I have, I will review each brand when I have time. Or if anyone is super anxious about what other masks I have or what I think is the best sheet mask that I have tried, then leave a comment or message me, it's because I never receive any comments or message, I don't even know if anyone is reading this (*tear-drop* and yet I'm still writing.. haha)

Skincare Review: Vitamin Sun Cream

This is a product that i got from the memebox vitamins serie probably 2 years ago, wow has it been that long?  Anyways i never got the chance to review it.

At first when i saw and read the packaging i though it was going to a anti-aging plus brightening sun cream, it guess it does what it says it was just me who mis-interpreted.  I though brightening in terms of helping with lightening skin or hyperpigmentation, but the brightening feature that this product has is more like a primer, it will make your skin more illuminate when you apply this sun lotion.

The SPF 38+ property of this lotion is not that high.  As a sun block i would think 50 SPF is a must especially for summer, so that's why i use this mostly in winter.

The texture of this sun block is pretty nice, it's not oily and as soon as you apply it you will your skin probably a skin tone lighter and more illuminious, which i think is a really good feature of this product.  At the end of day, i do see that i still get a bit oily around my t-zone, but i think that's normal for most of the moisturizer that i use.

Overall review: 3.5/5

The main disadvantages of this product is that the SPF is not high enough, also other than seeing it from memebox website i haven't seen this product being sold anywhere else.  So it will be hard to purchase this sun block if you didn't get it from memebox or live in Korea.

Skincare Review: Leader Insolution Tea Tree Sheet Mask Review

Leader Insolution Tea Tree sheet mask

This was on sale at my local H-mart for $29.99 for 10 sheet mask originally for $40 or something, another reason why i brought it was because the sales lady said i could mix and match between the same price of the Leader Insolution sheet masks.  Even though i mostly brought the tea tree mask, i still wanted to try out other kinds, so i brought an aloe one as well as a brightening one.

This is a really good mask especially for calming down acne or pimples, and i think this mask is also really hydrating.  Even hours after using the mask, i could still see my skin being hydrated.  The only slight downside is that this mask is on the pricer side, usually what i like to spend on mask is less than $2 per mask.  Since i usually use sheet mask 5 times a week, so spending more than $2 per mask would get pretty expensive after a while.  This mask is about $3 per mask, i think it's definitely worth the price, but it will be a mask that i will use everyday because it's a bit pricey.

Overall review: 4/5

Great mask for prevention and calming down acne.  It is surprising hydrating and there's tons of serum in the package.  If you don't have a budget or only use sheet mask occasionally then get this mask.

Skincare Review: Lise Watier Hydraforce

Lise Watier Hydraforce

If you haven't heard of the brand Lise Watier, it is a Canadian skin care company.  I have not purchase any Lise Watier skin care product before, but being a skin-care junkie, I have heard other people talking about it; especially because Shoppers Drug Mart always has coupon and extra point offers when you buy Lise Watier product, it is definitely one brand that I always want to try.

So this package of full-size Lise Watier Hydraforce was send to me by Glam Sense Topbox.  I was so extremely happy to get this package, because I never receive a full-size skin care product to test.  What's more, this product is on the market for more than $50 Canadian, so it is definitely a BIGGG freebie for me!

I was very surprised at the texture of this moisturizer.  I always thought a moisturizer should not be sticky, because I hate the feeling of stickiness on my face, but when I  tried out this product, the level of hydration that you feel right after applying this on your face is instant; it feels like there's an instant booth of moisture and it forms a layer on top of your skin to keep the moisture inside.

As a part of the package that was send withe Lise Watier Hydraforce moisturizer was also a device that measure your moisture level. I was surprised that I had normal to dry skin even though I always thought I was combination skin - oily skin. And the version that was send to me was for the normal-dry skin, which is good for this product test! Knowing me, I would have never picked the normal-dry skin type moisturizer because I would be too afraid of over oiliness that would clogged up my pores, but it turned out REALLY GOOD that I got this version, which made me realized that I need to have a heavily moisturizer.

Anyways, I got this product 2 weeks ago and I have been using day and night, sometime only using this moisturizer after washing my face and sometimes with the addition of serum before applying this moisturizer.  I have to say, even at the time that I only put on this moisturizer (skipping serum), I think it's equally moisturizing if I had put the serum on too.  So this moisturizer is very hydrating!!!

So, if you read my blog before, then you know that I have acne-prone skin, and 80% of the skincare concern is acne, pigmentation, and acne-prevention.  After using this moisturizer for 2 weeks, I find that even the hormonal acne that I would always get right before that time of the month went away, amazing right?!?

I think the saying that sometime acne is caused by lack of moisture is correct. When you have a pimple or acne, you think it might be because you are putting on too much, your moisturizer is too oily and it's clogging up your pores and causing the break out; but it is the complete opposite, there's not enough moisture and your pores generate oil to add moisture which causes break out.

Using the Lise Watier Hydraforce made me realize that a really intense hydrating moisturizer is better than an acne-targeting product, because this is acne prevention which is even better than acne fighting when you already have a break out and plus there's no acne scar to deal with.

Final review: 4.5/5, the 0.5 is the price range of this product, which is on the slightly higher end, but it's definitely worth the money to achieve a better skin.  And yes, I would repurchase even if it's $50+, I would buy it when Shoppers Drug Mart is having a promotion with Lise Watier.
